PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- For the second time this season, Eastern Connecticut State University Women's Soccer first-year forward
Emily McKelvey was named the Little East Conference's Rookie of the Week, while also doubling up and earning LEC Offensive Player of the Week for the first time in her career, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
McKelvey scored three goals in two matches for Eastern during a 1-0-1 week for the Warriors. The first-year forward scored the lone goal of the 1-1 tie earlier in the week against WestConn, before tallying two goals, including her fourth game-winner of the season, against UMass Dartmouth at home on Saturday in a 4-1 win. McKelvey finished the week with three goals on four shots on goal for six points.
Playing their final non-conference match of the season, Eastern will take on Worcester State University at Rick McCarthy Field next Wednesday at 6:00 PM. The Warriors are 5-2-0 in the all-time series against the Lancers, defeating them last season on the road, 2-0, to avenge a 1-0 loss from the 2024 season at home.
