BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – Eastern Connecticut women's swimming cruised to two big wins on Saturday (Nov. 7), beating Bridgewater State 184-77, and the University of New England 166.5-82.5.

Eastern won nine events on the afternoon and took all three spots on the podium in three events.

The Warriors started the day with the team of Julia Ames, Kalynn Stewart, Ashley Carvente and Jai-Lynn Wheeler winning the 400 medley relay in a time of 4:20.58.

The top-two spots in the 1000 freestyle belonged to Eastern with Ava Wheeler winning the event in 12:25.15. Madisyn Goldstein was second with a time of 12:41.98.

Jai-Lynn Wheeler won the 200 freestyle in a time of 2:03.98 and Ames followed in second with a time of 2:09.05.

Eastern swept the podium in the 50 backstroke with Addison McDonagh on top in a time of 30.81. Molly Ryan finished second (31.81) and Klara Cloutier finished third (34.38).
Stewart earned the win in the 50 breaststroke with a time of 33.45.

It was another 1-2-3 finish for Eastern in the 200 butterfly with Carvente winning (2:24.62), followed by Kalyn Baron (2:30.53) and Rachel Mathews (2:36.66).

In the 200 freestyle, Jai-Lynn Wheeler finished second with a time of 56.13.

Julia Ames won the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:21.66 and Cassie Wentzell was second (2:24.54).

In the 500 freestyle, Baron took home the win in a time of 5:45.98, with Ava Wheeler (6:05.33) and Klara Cloutier (6:27.97) finished second and third.

Carvente (5:21.77) and Mathews (5:22.97) went 1-2 in the 400 IM.
