WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- In their first season under Head Coach Mandy King, the Eastern Connecticut State University Women's Basketball team posted a 3.42 GPA. earning themselves a Special Mention on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Team Honor Roll.
The WBCA Academic Top 25 recognizes college women's basketball teams across the nation in their respective divisions that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. A team must have a combined GPA of 3.0 or better and be nominated by its head coach who must be a member of the WBCA to be recognized. The 2025-26 season is the 31st in which the WBCA has compiled the honor rolls. Of teams hailing from the Northeast, MIT (3rd) and Emerson College (10th) both landed inside the top 25, alongside Smith College (17th) and Middlebury College (21st). For Eastern, it is the first known recorded WBCA Academic Honor Roll they have earned in program history.
Out of the 15 players on the roster, 10 of them finished the academic year with a cumulative GPA of at least a 3.50 on King's squad with six of those finishing with at least a 3.70 GPA. The Warriors were one of only two teams from the Little East Conference to earn a spot on the list for the 2025-26 season alongside Rhode Island College.
