Box Score LEICESTER, Mass. -- Becker College fell 3-1 to Eastern Connecticut State University in non-conference men's soccer action Tuesday evening.
The Warriors got their first goal in the 20th minute when Nathan Mozian (Southington) fed Zach Kice (Denver, CO) with a beautiful centering pass in front of the Hawks net. Eastern Connecticut added to their lead with 16:03 remaining in the first half when Cory Tobler (Portland) took advantage of a failed clear attempt, blasting a shot past the dive of Becker keeper Tim McDonald. The Warriors increased their lead in the 37th minute on a goal from sophomore Tom Vear (Monson, MA), making the score 3-0 at the break.
Becker finally got on the board with 1:15 remaining in regulation when senior Jinaldo DeBrito lifted a shot over the head of Eastern Connecticut keeper Carl Appeal's (West Windsor, NJ) head, making the score 3-1.
Eastern Connecticut goalkeepers Jordan Munsell (Waterford) and Appel combined to make three stops on the evening. The win ups the Warriors record to 12-4-1 on the season.
Tim McDonald made six saves in a losing effort. The Hawks record now stands at 3-13-2 on the season. Becker will return to action on Saturday, October 29th, when they play NECC opponent Mitchell College at 2 p.m.
