Eastern (6-5-0) was coming off a pair of home victories, but Amherst (6-1-2) unloaded 30 shots in the match, scoring three times by the midway point of the first half in running its record against Eastern to 8-1-3 in the last 12 contests between the programs. Amherst is ranked in a tie for fifth in New England. The Lord Jeffs have won four straight and allowed only three goals all season.
