BEVERLY, Mass. – Sophomore attack Kyle Weber attacker matched an Endicott College men's lacrosse program record for most goals in a match by scoring eight in a 16-12 Endicott men's lacrosse victory over Eastern Connecticut Monday night at Endicott Stadium.

Less than a week after Alex Patinkin scored more than half of Babson College's   goals in an 11-8 victory over Eastern (1-3), Weber totaled half of his team's goals to lead Endicott (3-1) to their second victory over the Warriors in as many years.

Weber's offensive outburst more than doubled his season total. He now has a team-high 13 goals on the season for an Endicott squad that has won its last three games after dropping its season opener. 

Junior All-America midfielder Mike Devine (Cheshire) led Eastern with two goals and four assists, with junior attack Mike Jordan (Cheshire) adding three goals and an assist and junior midfielder Tyler Fresen (Newington) three goals.

An inability to capitalize on extra-man opportunities was costly in Eastern's bid to overcome a five-goal deficit three minutes into the second quarter  and a six-goal margin with two minutes left in the third quarter.  Endicott was slapped with nine minutes worth of penalties, but the Warriors managed goals on only three of 11 man-up tries.

Eastern utilized the extra man to pull to within there goals with three minutes left. Jordan's extra-man strike on an assist from sophomore midfielder Zach Thresher (Somers) made it 13-8, and Devine's second goal of the match on senior midfielder Kevin Fechtmann's (Levittownw, NY) helper cut the gap to four, 14-10 with four minutes left.

Weber's big night came off three unassisted goals with another five coming from the sticks of sophomores Harrison Cotter and Joshua Tordik, as well as junior defender Lucas Paratore.  Cotter and Tordik each finished with three assists in the game with Tordik adding a highlight reel goal early in the fourth quarter.  Weber's eighth and final goal with 2:19 remaining in the third quarter proved to be the game-winning as it pushed Endicott ahead 13-7. 

Eastern Connecticut made one last push over the final 15 minutes of the game by scoring five times.  Trailing by just three with 4:07 remaining, an empty netter goal by Gulls defender Anthony Martignetti and a hard-fought unassisted tally by Murphy gave Endicott some breathing room. 

The Gulls controlled the face-off for a majority of the game as Sam Ozycz went 19-for-30 on the draw with 12 groundballs while battling Eastern senior Josh Dubinsky (Woodstock).

Junior defender Chris Brown (Cohasset, MA) and sophomore defenseman Travis Tiger (Ridgefield) both total a game-high three caused turnovers for Eastern.  Tiger, Brown, and Dubinsky all scooped five groundballs.   

Eastern visits Amherst Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
