Box Score The Eastern Connecticut State University women's volleyball team won by scores of 25-13, 25-22, 25-22 over Westfield State University to snap a three-match losing streak and improve its overall record at 2-3 in its opening match of the Springfield College Invitational Friday night at Dana Gymnasium.
Freshman middle blocker Kay Mullen (Fairhaven, MA) had six kills and attacked at .357 to improve her season attack percentage to .302. Freshman outside hitter Adrianna Mihalek (Woodbury) led the Warriors with 11 kills and attacked at .292 and freshman outside hitter Ashley Adams (Mystic) added eight kills.
Junior setters Allie Henry (Middletown) and Jess Patrizi (Beacons Falls) each set for 14 assists and sophomore defensive specialist Allie Luppi (Tewksbury, MA) collected a team-high 14 digs. Mullen added three blocks.
After winning their first three matches by sweep, the Owls (3-2) were swept by a Little East Conference opponent for the second time in three days.
Eastern continues tournament play Saturday at 10 a.m. against Rivier College.
