Box Score WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- The Connecticut College women's volleyball team spotted Eastern Connecticut State University the first set before bouncing back for a four-set victory over the Warriors Tuesday night at Francis E. Geissler Gymnasium. Conn won by scores of 20-25, 25-21, 27-25, 25-16.
With the match tied 1-1, Eastern (11-13) held slim advantages throughout most of the important third set – including a 20-16 lead -- before Conn (14-5) scored the final three points on three Eastern errors. The Warriors held set point on a kill by junior right side
Kay Mullen (Fairhaven MA), but the Camels survived an Eastern serve to tie the set at 25-all.
Eastern trailed by three in the final set but pulled even at 13-all before Conn took control. The Warriors never trailed after assuming an early 9-8 lead in the first set, but Conn tied the match with a four-point win in the second set. Eastern led early (4-1) but Conn scored four straight and later added another four-point run to move out to a 19-17 lead.
Conn sophomore Sam Hunter led the Camels with 18 kills and a .538 attack percentage, freshman Jenny Kellogg adding 13 kills with a .333 attack percentage, and junior Ella Johnson chipping in nine kills and a .444 attack percentage. Sophomore setter Katia Elisman set 48 assists, Hunter adding ten digs and three block assists and Kellogg handled 13 receptions without an error. Sophomore libero Caroline Branigan dug up a match-high 17 balls and was successful on 27 of 30 reception attemps.

Ashley Adams (Mystic) and
Adrianna Mihalek (Woodbury) each had ten kills for Eastern and sophomore
Megan Macomber (South Windsor) added eight with no errors on 13 attempts. Sophomore
Caryn Sibiskie (Rockfall) served for three aces in limited time before leaving with an injury, junior setter
Fabiana Della-Monica (Newark, DE) setting 22 assists and sophomore
Amanda Tourjee (Waterford) 16. Senior libero
Allie Luppi (Tewksbury, MA) had 16 digs and Mihalek 12. Luppi, Mihalek and junior
Amanda Tyler (Longmeadow, MA) combined to handle 61 receptions with just one error each.
Prior to the match, seniors Luppi and
Melissa Godere (Norwich) and their families were honored on Seniors' Night. Both players are four-year letterwinners and helped Eastern to the ECAC tournament as freshmen and into the Little East Conference tournament finals a year ago.
Eastern hosts Keene State College in a Little East Conference match Saturday at 2 p.m.
