In the 12-run fifth inning which broke open a tight game, 11 of the runs came across after there were two out. In the inning, Adams had both of his two-run singles; sophomore first baseman D.J. Scavone, Budd and Budzik were batting in the lower third of the order.

He left with a 4-3 lead and the Warriors followed with two runs in the fourth and 12 in the fifth.
