Manar Enany (Fairfield)Â won an individual event with a personal-best mark of 34-8 1/4 (10.57) in the triple jump. The 27th-best jump this year in Division IIIÂ left her just shy of the New England qualifying standard of 10.60 meters. In the non-scoring meet, Enany was also second in the shot put (35-10 3/4/10.51m) and third in the weight throw (41-8 1/2/12.71m).
Other Top 5 finishers in the meet were the 4x400 relay of first-year athletes Gentile,
Alison LeClerc (Wolcott) and
Haley Robertson (Tolland) and sophomore
Carly Alston (Franklin, MA), sophomore
Claire Langton (Bolton) in the high jump, and first-year athletes
Iris Bazinet (Pomfret) in the 1000, LeClerc in the 800, and
Nicole Popham (Bethel) in the triple jump. The 4x400 relay was fourth (4:40.17) and Langton (4-5/1.35m), Bazinet (3:28.16), LeClerc (2:39.58) and Popham (30-3 1/2/9.23m) fifth.
Eastern competes at the Springfield College Massasoit Classic Jan. 22 at the Springfield Field House.
