RINDGE, N.H. – Fifth-seeded Rhode Island College scored all of its runs in the first three innings in a 12-2 rout of third-seeded Eastern Connecticut State University in a winners' bracket game of the 2025 Little East Conference baseball tournament Thursday at Pappas Field on the campus of Franklin Pierce University.
With the loss, Eastern (28-12) drops into an elimination game tentatively set (weather permitting) for Friday at 11 a.m. against second-seeded University of Massachusetts Boston (25-15). The Beacons were shut out, 7-0, in Wednesday's opener by Rhode Island College but remained alive with a 12-5 win over defending champion and sixth-seeded University of Massachusetts Dartmouth Thursday in a rematch of last year's LEC title game.
