First-time award-winner. The team returned to action after a month-long layoff and improved its dual-meet record to 2-0 by defeating Keene State College for the third time in the last four years, 180-87, at KSC's Spaulding Pool Friday. A team tri-captain, Jezek was one of three Eastern swimmers to collect 18 points. The program record-holder in the 50 and 100 freestyle, Jezek, against Keene, won the 100 (49.63) and 200 (1:53.57) freestyle and swam leadoff on the winning 200 freestyle relay (1:33.91) when he was timed in 22.54. Eastern competes at the University of Saint Joseph Saturday at 1 p.m. and hosts Norwich University Jan. 24 at noon on Senior Day before competing as the defending champion at the four-day Little East Conference Championships Feb. 12-15 at the Boston Sports Institute.


Rookie Swimmer-of-the-Week

First-time award-winner. The team returned to action after a month-long layoff and improved its dual-meet record to 2-0 by defeating Keene State College for the third time in the last four years, 180-87, at KSC's Spaulding Pool Friday. Sharing the team lead with 18 points, Bagtaz led the squad with four first-place finishes in two individual events and with two relays. Bagtaz won the 100 (59.24) and 200 (2:12.02) backstroke, swim anchor on the 200 freestyle relay (1:33.91) with a split of 22.64 and swam the backstroke (leadoff) in the 200 medley relay (1:44.21) with a split of 27.93. Eastern competes at the University of Saint Joseph Saturday at 1 p.m. and hosts Norwich University Jan. 24 at noon on Senior Day before competing as the defending champion at the four-day Little East Conference Championships Feb. 12-15 at the Boston Sports Institute.
