WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- After a week away from the regional rankings, Eastern Connecticut State University Women's Soccer is back in the eighth spot in the latest IWSOC Division III Coaches Poll in Partnership with United Soccer Coaches, which came out earlier this week.
While the top six remain untouched from when Eastern was in the regional top eight the other week, Rivier University has added its name to the mix in seventh, while Bowdoin College has dropped out of the top eight. The jump back into eighth comes after a 1-1-0 week for the Warriors in which they held off Union College behind two goals from junior midfielder
Faith Corona, 2-1, at home, before falling to SUNY Oneonta on the road in their penultimate non-conference match of the season, 1-0.
Little East Conference play will await Eastern this afternoon as they head to New Hampshire to take on Plymouth State University at 3:00 PM in the first of three consecutive LEC matches. Since the 2014 season, the Warriors are 12-1-2 against the Panthers, remaining unbeaten in five straight matches since the 2021 season, including winning the last two by scores of 2-0 and 4-1. Six of the final seven matches in the regular season that the Warriors will play are against Little East Conference opponents, with only a home matchup against Worcester State University remaining as the final non-conference affair.
