Women's Soccer Moves Up to Seventh in Latest Regional Poll

WILLIMANTIC, Conn. -- Released later on Monday, Eastern Connecticut State University Women's Soccer continued its climb up the IWSOC Division III Coaches Poll in Partnership with the United Soccer Coaches Regional Poll, moving into seventh and being included in the regional poll for the second consecutive week, as well as the third week overall this season.

The ranking comes after a dominant win over Plymouth State University on the road last week, a 4-0 victory that was highlighted by junior defender Jordan Fabry, scoring a goal in her 90 minutes of action, which led to her being named the Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Week. Eastern moved past Rivier University, who dropped into eighth, while the top six teams remained the same in the poll from a week ago.

Now at 3-0-0 in conference play, Eastern will take on its toughest conference opponent yet in WestConn on the road this Wednesday at 6:00 PM. The Warriors will look to avenge a 2-0 loss in the Little East Conference Semifinals at home last year, after defeating the Wolves for the first time since 2015, 1-0, during the regular season. In the all-time series, Eastern currently sits at 11-26-7 overall. This weekend, the Warriors will host UMass Dartmouth at Rick McCarthy Field for Senior Day at 12:00 PM, with the ceremony following the match.
