PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- For the first time this season, Eastern Connecticut State University Women's Soccer was honored in the Little East Conference Weekly Awards on the defensive side of the ball as junior defender
Jordan Fabry was named Defensive Player of the Week for the Warriors after their 1-0-0 week, taking down Plymouth State University on the road, as announced by the league office on Monday.
Fabry helped Eastern's defense to its fourth shutout of the season during its one match this week against the Panthers on the road. The junior helped anchor the Warrior defense by playing all 90 minutes and scoring in the third minute to record the game-winning goal in the 4-0 victory. On defense, Eastern only allowed three shots on goal as well as eight shots overall.
Now at 3-0-0 in conference play, Eastern will take on its toughest conference opponent yet in WestConn on the road this Wednesday at 6:00 PM. The Warriors will look to avenge a 2-0 loss in the Little East Conference Semifinals at home last year, after defeating the Wolves for the first time since 2015, 1-0, during the regular season. In the all-time series, Eastern currently sits at 11-26-7 overall.Â
