Second-time weekly selection this year and ninth Eastern honoree from the program this year. Had the fourth-best throw and best among freshmen this year in the Little East Conference with a mark of 40-7 ½ (12.38m) in a sixth-place finish among 31 competitors in the invitational division of the shot put at the River Hawk Invitational at the TRACK as the top freshman.  Her throw was the fifth-best this year in the NCAA Mideast Region and fourth-farthest in program history, moving her up one spot from her previous PR of 38-11 ¾ (11.88m) set in her first indoor meet back on Dec. 6 at Wesleyan University. Also placed 16^th among 33 in the invitational division of the weight throw with a mark of 46-4 ¾ (14.14m.). That distance was just behind her all-time best of 47-10 (14.58), which is the second-longest in program history behind former Eastern Olympian Bonnie Edmondson (51-6 1/4 /15.70m) and the 11^th-best in the Mideast Region this season. Eastern competes at the URI Coaches' Invitational Saturday at 10 a.m.

Dominick Dao, Sr., Terryville (Terryville)
 
First Eastern weekly selection this year. Senior guard and 1000-point scorer averaged 22.5 points on 65.4 percent shooting from the floor, including  56.3 percent shooting (9-of-16) from three-point range in a 2-0 week against Little East Conference opponents. He scored all but two of his 45 points from the floor during the week.  In a 96-86 win at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Dao tied his career high with 30 points. He was 11-of-16 from the floor, including 6-of-10 from three-point range and hit both of his free throws. In an 88-85 home win over the University of Southern Maine, Dao had 15 points (6-of-10 F, 3-of-6 from distance), three steals and two rebounds. In 71 total minutes during the week, Dao was charged with just one turnover. A starter in all 21 games this year, Dao averages 13.8 points, leads the team in minutes (30.1), three-pointers (48), steals (31) and is second in free throw percentage (81.1). A winner of two straight and sharing the sixth and final tournament spot in the LEC, Eastern (13-8, 5-7 LEC) visits Rhode Island College Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
