Senior pre-season All-America catcher and two-time first-team All-Little East selection Hank Penders (Wethersfield) had the first multi home run game of his career in an 11-6 win at Farmingdale State College in the team's only game of the week Sunday. Penders, who also threw out a baserunner, had three hits, scored three runs, drove in three runs and also reached on a walk in six plate appearances. Penders, batting third, had a single and scored in  a three-run first, hit a two-run home run in a fourth-run third, walked in the fourth and slammed a solo home run in a two-run eighth. In five games for the 3-2 Warriors, Penders leads the team with a .435 batting average and with ten hits and five extra base hits and 20 total bases. He now has 12 career home runs, with at least one coming in each of his four seasons. Eastern visits the University of Hartford in a non-conference game Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Fiondella Field before playing six games in five days in Florida beginning Sunday. The Warriors are scheduled to host VTSU Castleton in a 1 p.m. doubleheader March 22 at Holowaty Family Field in their home and Little East Conference openers.
