Baseball: Sharing Second Place, Last Year's Little East Finalists in Key Twinbill

Team RecordsĀ
Eastern Connecticut:Ā 20-7-1, (7-2 LEC)
Keene State:Ā 15-12, (7-2 LEC)

Series History:Ā
  • 93rd and 94thĀ meetings all time. Eastern owns the series lead 73-19, defeating the Owls in both regular season games last year, but losing in the Little East Conference Tournament
  • The teams first met in the 2025 season on April 9 in Mansfield, a game the Warriors comfortably won, 12-7. Eastern led 5-4 heading into the bottom of the sixth and scored seven runs in two innings to give themselves a 12-4 advantage. Keene pulled three back in the top of the ninth, but it was too little too late in the first meeting out of three
  • The second meeting between the LEC opponents saw eight runs scored during the first inning of Keene State's home game as the Owls took a 5-3 advantage heading into the second. The Warriors scored nine runs between innings 3-5 and Nicholas Furino was credited with his first win of the season, completing the regular season sweep over the Owls
  • Keene State neutralized the Warrior offense in the teams' third meeting of the season, a 2-1 victory for the Owls at Pappas Field in Rindge, NH, home of Franklin Pierce University. The decisive run was driven in by Evan Cali, who doubled down the left field line and allowed Luke Anderson to score. Jake Jachym was given the win, pitching 1.2 innings and allowing no hits
Recent Games: Ā
  • Prior to the Thursday night loss against Wheaton College, the Warriors went on a five game winning streak, including three combined wins over LEC opponents Rhode Island College and Western Connecticut State University. After dominant wins over Johnson & Wales and Western Connecticut, the Warriors came back from an 8-1 deficit against Amherst College to win 9-8
  • The Owls are coming off an 8-7 loss against the University of Hartford, an opponent the Warriors tied 12-12 in an eight-inning game earlier in the year. Prior to this loss, Keene State had won eight out of nine games, dating back to a 11-2 win over UMass Boston in the second game of a LEC doubleheader
Game Notes:
  • Keene State bats .338 as a team, the highest mark in the LEC, but Eastern has a team ERA of 4.96 which also leads the conference

  • Ian Moser leads the conference in OPS (1.302), home runs (9), RBI (48), and slugging percentage (.779)
