Elizabeth Mitchell, So., RH, Coventry (Coventry)

 
 
Eight-time LEC weekly award-winner, third consecutive this season. In the team's 3-1 week including a home Little East Conference sweep of Western Connecticut, Mitchell was 3-0 with a 1.91 ERA in 14 2/3 innings. Against WestConn, Mitchell won both games, going the distance with a seven-hitter in an opening 7-4 win, fanning seven and walking one and pitching the final 2 2/3 innings in an 11-10 second-game win. In that game, Mitchell struck out four and walked one, striking out the side in the top of the seventh before Eastern scored three runs in a walk-off win in the bottom of the inning. Mitchell began the week with a 13-0 complete-game five inning, one-hit shutout at Nichols College, striking out eight without a walk. She carried a perfect game into the fifth inning of that game. Mitchell also batted .333 during the week with six runs scored and four RBI with a .778 slugging percentage and .538 on-base percentage. This year, she has appeared on the mound in 13 of 18 games for the Warriors (12-6, 4-0 LEC) with an 8-2 record and 2.18 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 64 1/3 innings. She leads the LEC in complete games (8), shutouts (3), innings and strikeouts, is second in wins and third in starts (9). Offensively, the leadoff hitter is third on the team with a .365 batting average and leads the club in hits (19), runs (18), RBI (12), doubles (4), and extra-base hits (7). Eastern hosts the University of Hartford Wednesday in a 3 p.m. non-conference doubleheader at Clyde Washburne Field.

Julia Boya, Jr., OF, Coventry (Coventry)

 
Gains first career weekly honor. In the team's 3-1 week including a Little East Conference home sweep of Western Connecticut, starting centerfielder Boya batted .667 with 1.667 slugging and .800 on-base percentages and handled six fielding attempts perfectly. Boya was 4-for-6 at the plate with a double, triple, home run, six runs scored, five RBI, four walks,  four stolen bases in as many attempts and a sacrifice bunt which sparked a three-run seventh inning in an 11-10 walkoff win against visiting Western Connecticut. She struck out only once on ten plate appearances during the week. In the sweep of WestConn, Boya was 4-for-5 with five RBI, three runs, a double, triple and first career home run, walk and sacrifice bunt. In the second game, she drove in two runs with a two-out double in a three-run fifth inning that cut a five-run deficit to two entering the seventh. On the day, Boya improved her batting average 65 percentage points to  take over the team lead, at .378. She is also the team-leader in on-base percentage (.489), and is second in runs (14), walks (9) and slugging (.595) and has a .955 fielding average on 22 chances. Eastern hosts the University of Hartford Wednesday in a 3 p.m. non-conference doubleheader at Clyde Washburne Field.
