PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Eastern Connecticut State field hockey (0-1) dropped its opening day contest at Johnson & Wales (R.I.) 2-0 on Tuesday (Sept. 1).
Johnson and Wales scored the first goal of the game at 32:19 into the contest and added a second goal with just over a minute to play in the game.
Eastern led JWU in shots, outshooting the Wildcats 16-13 and finishing with eight shots on goal to seven.
Grace Barlage led the team with five shots and
Ada Ellis had a team-high two shots on goal.
Victoria McKenna made five saves in goal for the Warriors.

Eastern will return home for its home opener on Saturday (Sept. 5) against Husson, beginning at 12 p.m.
