MANSFIELD, Conn. – Eastern Connecticut field hockey lit up the scoreboard in a 7-4 win over Framingham State on Friday (Sept. 11). First-year
Reagan Grecula scored a hat trick for the Warriors.
Eastern (2-2) outshot the Framingham State (2-2) 30-11 and had 17 shots on goal to just six for the Rams.
Framingham State got the scoring started at 3:25 in the first quarter but
Sophie Ash would score back-to-back goals at 11:20 and 17:28 to put the Warriors ahead. The Rams would tie the game at 24:46 but right before halftime,
Betsy Davis found Grecula for her first goal of her career as Eastern took the lead. Framingham State scored 40 seconds later to tie the game at the half.
To start the second half,
Audrey Molin scored her sixth goal of the season 90 seconds into the third, but Framingham State quickly answered, tying the game at four at 36:08.
From there, Eastern took over with Grecula scoring her second and third goals of the game 10 minutes apart.
Jenna Boardman assisted on the first goal and
Grace Barlage assisted on the second. Barlage put home a loose ball in front with just under a minute to play for her first goal of the season to close out the scoring.
Eastern's seven goals are the most since scoring seven against UMass Dartmouth last season on Nov. 1.
