MANSFIELD, Conn. – Eastern Connecticut field hockey's (4-2) offense remained on display at Rick McCarthy Field in a 4-0 win over Regis (1-2) on Thursday (Sept. 17).
Audrey Molin continues to be a force on offense for the Warriors with two more goals, pushing her season total to 10.
The Warriors controlled the ball for the majority of the game, outshooting Regis 32-6. In goal, Katie Paradise picked up another win, posting a scoreless first half.
Veronica McKenna held Regis off the board in the second half with two saves. This marks the first time Eastern has posted back-to-back shutouts since Sept. 22 and 27 of last season.
Just over five minutes into the game, Molin struck with her ninth goal of the season. Eastern got the ball through the defense and
Sophie Ash tapped the bouncing ball to Molin's stick, who put it past Regis's goalie for the first goal.
A minute later, Eastern had another penalty corner with the ball coming up to the
Grace Barlage up top. Barlage sent the ball on goal and
Ella Rice deflected it into the net for her first goal of the season.
In the third, Molin struck again. The junior found the ball in front of the goal in a scrum and flipped it over the pad of the goalie for her second of the game.
The fourth goal came on after a beautiful passing display by the Warriors.
