BRIDGEWATER, Mass. -- Members of the Eastern Connecticut State University women's swim team swam the fastest times in all 14 swim events in defeating Bridgewater State University for the fifth consecutive time, 151-112, Saturday afternoon at the Dr. Mary Jo Moriarty Pool.

Juniors Erin McVeigh (Windsor) and Marissa Colley (East Haven) won two events each and each swam a leg of a winning relay for Eastern (3-0).

Eastern swam the top three times in five of 14 swimming events and the top two in four others. The Warriors swam the final three events on an exhibition basis when the hosts were awarded 47 of their points. Bridgewater (3-4) also collected 28 points in two diving events (Eastern does not have a diving team).

McVeigh captured the 100 yard butterfly (1:03.67) and 100 breaststroke (1:18.83) and Colley the 200 freestyle (2:10.26) and 100 backstroke (1:06.18), with freshman Katie King (Barkahamsted) winning the 50 breaststroke (33.33) and swimming the fastest time on an exhibition basis in the 100 individual medley (1:05.81).

Junior Colleen King (Barkamsted) recorded the fastest time in the 50 butterfly (28.79) and others winning individual events were juniors Michelle Schapp (Torrington) in the 500 freestyle (5:47.70) and Becky Odgers (Shelton) in the 50 backstroke, sophomore Abby Arisco (Wallingford) in the 200 individual medley  and freshman Macaire Jones (Danbury) in the 50 freestyle.

Joining McVeigh and Colley on winning relays were Katie King,  Arisco, Macaire Jones, junior Jacqueline Tromp (Bohemia), sophomore Kayla Smoragiewicz (Norwalk) and freshman Heather Avery (Wethersfield).

Eastern hosts Keene State College Jan. 12 at 1 p.m.
