Rookie Field Athlete-of-the-Week
Casondra Caldwell, Fy., Bridgeport (Great Oaks Charter)
Seven-time recipient of a weekly award during the indoor and outdoor seasons, third time outdoors. In helping the Warriors win their own Bonnie Edmondson Classic Friday, Caldwell broke the 11-year-old triple jump record with a winning mark of 37-7 ¾ (11.47m), which bettered her previous PR of 37-2 ½ set the previous week when she won the event at Southern Connecticut. Caldwell set the current indoor triple jump record in earning All-New England honors March 1 with a second-place finish in a field of 24.

Anaka Eaton, So., Coventry (Coventry)

Fourth-time recipient of a weekly award, twice winning indoors as the Rookie Field Athlete-of-the-Week and twice outdoors as Field Athlete-of-the-Week. Was the women's and men's only double winner in helping the women win Friday's Bonnie Edmondson Classic title. Eaton won the shot put in a field of 25 and the hammer in a field of 21. She threw 40-6 ¼ (12.35m) in the shot, with her mark of 163-1 ½ (49.73m) in the hammer a personal-best and just off the record of 164-10 (50.24m) set by Eastern Olympian Bonnie Edmondson in 1987.

Hagen Drake, Fy., Stonington (Stonington)

Repeat winner of the weekly award. A week after breaking the program record in the 400m hurdles, Drake won the 110m hurdles in a field of nine competitors with a time of 15.06 seconds Friday at the Bonnie Edmondson Classic, won by Eastern. The time was just off his PR of 14.97, which ranks second all-time and is just .48 seconds off the program record.

Elizabeth Mitchell, So., Coventry (Coventry)

Fourth-time weekly honoree this year. In the team's 4-2 week (3-1 LEC), the returning LEC Pitcher-of-the-Year contributed to all of the wins with three complete games (one shutout) and a save, giving her a 12-3 record this year with two saves. The righty had a 0.58 ERA with 18 strikeouts in 24 1/3 innings and allowed only three extra-base hits. In a 4-0 home Little East Conference shutout of Keene State College, Mitchell pitched a two-hitter with nine strikeouts. This year, she has a 1.69 ERA with 86 strikeouts in 99 2/3 innings. For the Warriors (17-11, 7-3 LEC), Mitchell ranks first in the LEC in wins, complete games (13), shutouts (5), and strikeouts, second in ERA, tied for second in saves (2), and tied for third in starts (14) and opposing batting average (.235
). Coming off an LEC sweep at the University of Massachusetts Boston Saturday, Eastern (17-11, 7-3 LEC) hosts Rhode Island College Tuesday in a 3:30 p.m. LEC doubleheader at Clyde Washburne Field. With six LEC regular-season games remaining, the Warriors are in second place, a game behind VTSU Castleton.

Offensive Player-of-the-Week
Alexa Vizzini, Sr., Vernon, NJ (Vernon Township)

First-time selection this year. In a 3-0 week against Little East Conference opponents, the three-time first-team All-LEC attack had 12 goals – including the 200
th of her career – and eight assists and won 15 draws. Vizzini had five goals each against Plymouth State University and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth and totalled seven combined assists against Plymouth and the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Thirteen of her draws came against Plymouth and Keene State College. Ranks third in the LEC in goals (47) and goals per match (3.62), fourth in assists per match (1.46), sixth in assists (19), third in points per match (5.08), sixth in points (66), fourth in draw controls per match (4.38), and seventh in draw controls (57). Eastern (7-6, 5-1 LEC) hosts defending LEC playoff champion and 2026 LEC unbeaten Western Connecticut State University Wednesday at 6 p.m. and closes out the regular season Saturday at VTSU Castleton at 1 p.m.
