Men's Lacrosse: For Both Teams, Outcome in Finale Will Impact Playoff Positions

Series History:Ā 
  • 44thĀ meeting all time. Series dates back to April 18, 1998, when the Warriors defeated the Owls at home, 24-2. Eastern won the first nine games of the series until Keene State's 15-4 win in 2005. Keene owns the all-time series lead, 26-17
  • The teams have met three times in the 2024 & 2025 seasons. In the game on March 23, 2024, the Warriors led the Owls 4-1 after the first quarter. Keene State stormed back through the next three quarters to take a 14-8 win
  • In the first round of the 2024 Little East Conference playoffs at Keene, NH, Keene Ā Ā defeated the Warriors by a score of 12-6, holding Eastern scoreless throughout the entire second half. Jeff Wiedenfeld scored three for the Owls; the Warriors had six different goal scorers
  • In 2025, the teams met at Owl Athletic Complex. Warren Channing scored four for the Warriors; Rex Maccarini and Jake Dubiel combined for nine goals for the Owls. Keene State outscored the Warriors 8-2 in the fourth quarter in their 17-7 win
Recent Games: Ā 
  • After an impressive 21-1 non-conference win against Anna Maria College, the Warriors are an even 2-2 in their last four conference games. The two wins came against the University of Southern Maine and VTSU Castleton, both of which were dominant results
  • Similarly, the two losses against Western Connecticut State University and Massachusetts Maritime Academy were also dominant. In their most recent game against Mass Maritime, the Warriors led by one goal after the opening quarter, but fell 19-8
  • The Owls are also 2-2 in their last four games, defeating Plymouth State University and VTSU Castleton in between losses to Western Connecticut State University and the University of Massachusetts Boston
  • The closest of the four games was the 9-8 win over Plymouth State on Senior Day. The Owls scored with just under eleven minutes to go in the fourth quarter to take a 9-7 lead and shut out the Panthers for ten minutes and one second, until Plymouth scored to make it 9-8. The Owls held on for what could turn out to be a critical win in the conference standings

  • Jack Ansart leads Keene State in points (43) and points per game (3.1), with 43 in 14 games. The Warriors are led by Landon Mabb, who has 39 points in 11 games
  • The Keene State duo of Ty Couglar (93) and Jack Ricci (74) rank 3rd and 4thĀ in the conference in ground balls. Couglar's 59 caused turnovers rank him first in the conference, 17 more than second place
  • The Warriors rank last in the LEC in man-up and man-down goals, with seven and none, respectively
  • Eastern Ā has committed the fewest penalties per game in the Little East Conference. Its 23 penalties in 11 games are 27 less than second place. Keene has committed 68 in 14 games, the second-most in the conference
  • The two teams rank 4-5 in the LEC with comparable faceoff percentages. Keene is at 55.8, Eastern at 54.9. Eastern's top two faceoff men have nearly identical winning percentages at attempts: Gavin DeLucia (53.8 on 91 attempts) and Jake Correia (56.5 on 92 tries); Jack Ricci has attempted 75 percent of Keene's faceoffs, winning 60.2 percent.
