Track & Field: Warriors Compete at F.I.R.E. Meet as Outdoor Season Winds Down

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – The Eastern Connecticut State University Track & Field team competed at the Farley Inter Regional meet on Friday and Saturday at Lee Track. In addition to two days of track and field events, the meet hosted a heptathlon and decathlon. Coming off the New England Division III Championships last week, most of the team will not compete further in the 2026 season, but some athletes are still seeking national qualifying marks.
 
Laci Davis (Prospect) posted the highest finish for the Warriors today, jumping 11.58 meters (38-0) in the women's triple jump for third place. Finishing seventh in the event was Casondra Caldwell (Bridgeport) with a jump of 11.16m (36-7.25) for seventh place. Caldwell also competed in the long jump, where her mark of 5.18m (17-0) earned her another seventh-place finish. Givanni Perry (Hartford) finished a spot ahead in the long jump, jumping 5.29m (17-4.25) for sixth. In the high jump, Perry was 15th with her clearance of 1.48m (4-10).
 
On the track, the men's 4x400m relay finished in tenth on Friday with a time of 3:23.88. In the 400m hurdles, Bode Paquin (Windham) ran 57.90 for 13th place. Kenyon Morrissette (Lebanon) finished the men's 200m in 16th place with a time of 22.67. In the middle distance events, Zachary D'Andrea (Wallingford) ran 1:56.02 in the 800m, finishing 26th. Sam Ambrocio (Beacon Falls) was a few places behind in the 1500m, finishing 29th with a time of 4:02.58.
 
In the throws, Anaka Eaton (Coventry) placed 13th in the women's discus throw, reaching a mark of 34.67m (133-9). In the hammer throw, Eaton threw 41.28m (135-5) and finished in 18th. Mike Prizio (Trumbull) competed in the men's discus and earned a tenth-place finish with a throw of 42.92m (140-10).
 
Next up for the Warriors is the MIT Final Qualifier is at 4 p.m. on Thursday in the Henry G. Steinbrenner Stadium in Cambridge, Mass. As the name suggests, this will be the last opportunity for any athletes to improve their marks and attempt to gain entry into the NCAA Division III National Championships on May 21st – May 23rd. The national meet will take place at Veteran's Memorial Field Sports Complex in La Crosse, WI.
