A. Allan Chandler was a four-year basketball letterwinner, two-year captain, 1000-point scorer and one of the program’s all-time best rebounders. A four-year starter, the 6-foot 5-inch North Grosvenor Dale native amassed 1,394 points in a 76-game career (18.3 average). After enduring three losing seasons, Chandler capped his outstanding individual career as a senior co-captain, when the Warriors matched their winningest season to that point in program history, finishing 18-6 and winning a one-game playoff to earn the final spot in the New England State College Athletic Conference tournament. As a junior captain, Chandler averaged team-highs in points (18.8) and rebounds (17.6), totaling more than 20 points in each of the season’s final six games. In his career, Chandler led or shared the team lead in scoring 43 times, totaling 30 or more points six times, with a career-high 36 coming Dec. 10 of his senior year against Rhode Island College. On most occasions, Chandler also led one or both teams in rebounding and set the existing program single-game record of 40 on Jan. 12 of his sophomore season against Keene State.
