Through the first 36 years of the volleyball program, Kathleen Kimball Tredwell was its only first-team All-America selection.  A 5-foot-11 inch middle hitter from North Stonington, Kimball was a three-time all-region and All-New England selection and a first-team AVCA Division III All-America as a junior in 1993 when she ranked second nationally in attack percentage (.413) and ninth with an average of 4.08 kills per game. Kimball helped the Warriors to two NCAA and two ECAC tournament berths in her 155-match career and an overall four-year winning percentage of .720. She was a three-year starter as a sophomore in 1992, as a junior in 1993 and as a fifth-year senior in 1995 (she missed all but the first match of 1994 with a back injury). Appearing in all but one of the team’s matches in her final three healthy seasons, the two-time team captain was the Warriors’ leader in kills and attack percentage in each of those seasons and in block solos, block assists and total blocks twice. With Eastern facing the top Division III teams on the East Coast throughout her career, Kimball amassed 1,362 kills and a career .384 attack percentage, 383 blocks, and 607 digs.  En route to becoming only the second first-team collegiate All-America from New England at any level in 1993, Kimball led the Warriors in kills, attack percentage and block solos, assists and total blocks. In her final season, Kimball was named MVP of the first Little East Conference Tournament, first-team All-New England Region and first-team All-New England and was named to the NEWVA Senior Classic, and also earned an E-Club Scholar-Athlete Award. Sixteen years since her final match, Kimball still ranks first all-time in total blocks and block solos, second in kills and attack percentage and fifth in total attack attempts. In 2002, Kimball became the first of only two Eastern alumni to gain induction into the Connecticut Volleyball Hall of Fame.
