Recognized nationwide as a successful baseball coach, William P. Holowaty is also credited as the motivating force behind the rise of the entire athletic program to national prominence. The Mohawk, N.Y. native served as the University’s director of athletics for 14 years and concluded his 22nd season as head baseball coach in 1990 with his second NCAA Division III national title. At the time of induction, Holowaty stands as the winningest baseball coach in New England Division III history and is rated second in victories among all active Division III mentors. Holowaty’s coaching accomplishments in 22 years are mind-boggling: nearly 900 games, 662 wins, a 73.9 winning percentage, 15 seasons of 30 or more victories, 25 All-America selections and 18 professional baseball signees.

(Note: Holowaty retired in his 45th season as head baseball coach in 2013 with four national championships and an overall record of 1,404-525-7).
