Joel M. Boisvert enjoyed a brilliant four-year career, serving as the program’s No. 1 soccer goalkeeper when the Warriors qualified for four NAIA regional tournaments. The Coventry native started the final 61 matches of his career, posting a program-record 25 shutouts and allowing one or no goals a total of 39 times. With Boisvert, Eastern won 44, lost 17 and tied two matches for a winning percentage of .714. As a senior, Boisvert recorded three shutouts in six post season starts, leading the team to its third New England title in six years with a 2-0 regional championship win over Husson College. That year, he was named a New England State College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) first-team all-star. Boisvert concluded an outstanding career in the manner in which it began, recording a shutout when Eastern blanked Newark College in the consolation round of the NAIA national tournament.
