Singled out by Hall of Fame coach Bob Miller as his best defensive player ever, point guard Christine Brennan was disruptive on defense and a leader on offense on the era’s high-intensity teams. The Mount Vernon, N.Y. native stood only 5-foot-2 inches tall, but overcame her lack of height with a high-energy, persistent style at both ends of the floor.  A four-year year regular at the point, Brennan piled up steals and assists at a record-setting pace, graduating as the all-time leader in both of those categories. During Brennan’s 95-game career, Eastern won 62 of 99 games and qualified for three post-season tournaments. In Brennan’s middle two seasons, the Warriors combined for a 37-14 record and were named to their first two NCAA Division III tournaments. In those two seasons, Brennan appeared in all possible 51 games, starting every game as a sophomore and sharing the team lead with 25 starts as a junior. As a sophomore, she averaged over 30 minutes per game and was the backcourt catalyst on a team which won its first eight games, was ranked first in New England for five weeks and among the national leaders for the first  seven weeks of the season. She was the team’s assist leader every year and its leader in steals during her first three seasons. Brennan was named to the All-New England team as both a  junior and senior and selected as team’s Best Defensive Player as  a sophomore and junior. As a senior co-captain, she was named Most Valuable Player.
