At 6-foot-2 inches tall, Ashley N. McFetridge Snedeker is considered by many as the most athletic and intimidating six-footer in Eastern women’s basketball history.
In her four-year career, the Canton native helped the Warriors to three 20-win seasons, and an overall record of 86-27, 40-16 in the Little East Conference.
As a senior, McFetridge was selected WBCA Division III All-America – becoming only the third different individual in program history to attain first-team recognition -- and as ECAC Player-of-the-Year and repeated as Little East Player-of-the-Year and as first-team WBCA All-Northeast District. Additionally that year, she earned first-team All-LEC and LEC All-Defensive Team recognition for the third straight year and was named first-team All-NEWBA (New England Women’s Basketball Association) and to the NEWBA Senior Classic.
As a captain that year, McFetridge helped the Warriors win 23 of 25 games in the regular season – including a 16-game winning streak through the LEC semifinals -- and capture their first outright LEC regular-season championship in 18 years en route to their third 20-win season in four years.
In her junior season, she averaged career-highs of 15.4 points and 8.5 rebounds to go along with 46 blocks and a .530 shooting percentage and was named tournament MVP when Eastern won its first LEC tournament championship in 12 years That year, Eastern defeated 11-time defending champion University of Southern Maine on the road in overtime (for the second time that season) in the LEC title game. In three tournament games, McFetridge averaged 18.0 points and 7.7 rebounds with seven blocked shots and five assists.
Eight years after graduation, McFetridge still ranks among the Top 10 all-time in ten career categories. She is currently second in blocks (158), third in field goal percentage (52.7), and sixth in points (1,364) and rebounds (777).
McFetridge holds a B.S. Degree in Sport & Leisure Management and is employed as a conference and events planner at the Florida Center for Cybersecurity at the University of South Florida in Tampa. She resides in St. Petersburg with husband Jon, a 2008 Eastern graduate who was a four-time All-LEC lacrosse player.
