As both an athlete and coach, the New Britain native was part of numerous “firsts”. As an athlete, Regan was a member of the first post-season tournament qualifier and first national tournament qualifier as a sophomore basketball player in 1976-77, then lettered on the first fastpitch softball team that spring. As the women’s soccer program’s first coach, Regan complied a mark of 48-30-9 for a .603 winning percentage and directed the program to its first three post-season tournament berths and first NCAA Division III tournament invitation.
