For four years, Ginny Adler was the top run-producer in the most productive softball program in New England collegiate history. Stationed in the heart of Division III’s most uncompromising lineup, Adler helped deliver NCAA Division III national championships in 1985 and 1986, an unprecedented four straight regional titles, and a winning percentage of .792 (141-37). As a senior in 1988, the Shelton native batted a career-high .392 and drove in a career-high 35 runs for the nation’s No.1-ranked team. That year, she was named MVP of the Northeast Regional tournament after reaching base safely seven times in ten appearances, and soon after, was honored as a first-team NCAA All-America. The team’s cleanup batter served the team as a catcher, outfielder and designated player in her career, and in national tournament play as a freshman, was the starting third baseman on the national title team. As a sophomore, Adler’s hits plated the go-ahead runs in 2-0, 1-0 wins over Central College that gave the Warriors their second straight national crown. In that tournament, Adler batted .389 with five RBI en route to all-tournament honors. In a 153-game career, Adler amassed a New England record 116 RBI (sixth-most all-time in Division III) and a .362 batting average which ranked her third all-time at Eastern. At the time of graduation, she was also ranked fifth in hits (154), total bases (223) and runs (88), first in triples (19), tied for third in doubles (19) and tied for fourth in home runs (4). At the time of induction, Adler ranks second all-time in RBI and triples and is sixth in batting average, tenth in total bases and 11th in hits.
