Stephen E. “Krash” Krajewski was a blue-collar corner infielder who brought consistency and power to the heart of the lineup as a four-year starter. The 6-foot-1 inch, 195-pound right-handed batter hit for power (299 total bases) and average (.338 career average) and was a catalyst for teams which amassed four straight 30-win seasons and a composite .744 winning percentage (134-46). In Krajewski’s career, the Warriors averaged 33.5 wins per season and won two NAIA District 32 championships (1974-75), one NAIA Area 8 title (1975) and qualified for the first two NCAA Division III tournaments in program history (1976-1977). The team’s regular third baseman for three years, Krajewski also spent a full season at first base and never failed to hit .300 in a season. The Rockville/Vernon native missed only four career games and graduated as the program’s all-time leader in numerous categories, among them games (176), hits (188), RBI (115), runs (133), homeruns (23), total bases (299), and walks (79). As the team’s senior captain and only four-year letterwinner in 1977, Krajewski batted .350 and hit what was then a season-record ten home runs. A two-time All-New England selection, Krajewski was named MVP as a senior on a team which featured five teammates who would go on to sign professional baseball contracts. In 1978, Krajewski was named to Eastern’s All-time Baseball Team – which encompassed the first 30 years of the program.
