Lynn A. Rocheleau was a commanding pitcher and powerful hitter in the most dominant era of the Eastern softball program, earning NFCA Division III All-America honors three times at three different positions
At 6-foot-1 inches tall, Rocheleau was a key player on teams which won three regional softball championships and went on to finishes of first (1985), second (1989) and third (1988) in national tournament play during her three-year career. The Fairfield native was part of a 1985 freshman class that must be considered the finest incoming class in the history of New England Division III athletics, with six players going on to All-America honors and E-Club Hall of Fame recognition.
Rocheleau is one of only two players in program history to total at least 30 pitching wins and collect at least 100 hits. As a pitcher, she currently ranks fourth all-time in winning percentage (86.1), seventh in least hits and walks allowed per seven innings (6.88), eighth in ERA (1.24), and tied for ninth in shutouts (10). Offensively, she ranks tied for seventh in batting average (.371) and shares ninth place in RBI (90).
A starter in all 126 games in which she appeared in her career, Rocheleau won all 25 of her regular-season career pitching decisions up north, compiling an overall pitching record of 31-5 with a 1.24 ERA and batting .371 with 146 hits, 90 RBI and only nine strikeouts in 394 official at-bats.
One of the most versatile players in program history, Rocheleau pitched, caught, played first base, designated player and left field and batted in the heart of the Eastern lineup every season of her career.
In addition to her softball career, Rocheleau spent the fall of her freshman season in 1984 with the volleyball program, missing the first half of the season with a broken thumb and leaving the program prior to her sophomore season due to a pre-season knee injury.
Rocheleau holds a B.S. Degree in Communication from Eastern and resides in Escondido, CA with her spouse, Susan Pastor. A former pitching coach at Sacred Heart University, Rocheleau is employed in the insurance field.
