Allison Coleman
As the only four-time WBCA Division III All-America inhistory and the 2004 national Player-of-the-Year, AllisonL. Coleman is the most acclaimed player in the 42-yearhistory of the Eastern women’s basketball program. As asenior, Coleman was voted WBCA/State Farm Player-of-the-Year andwas basketball’s nomination as the Division III CollegiateWoman Athlete-of-the-Year. Additionally that year, she was DivisionIII’s representative to the WBCA College All-Star Team whichcompeted against the USA Women’s Senior National Team at theNCAA Division I women’s basketball Final Four at New Orleans.The 5-foot-10 inch Jewett City native concluded her four-yearcareer as the program’s all-time leader in virtually everycareer category. In her 117-game career, Coleman averaged 17.0points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 3.2 steals, totaled 131blocked shots and 152 three-point field goals, and compiled seventriple-doubles and 60 double-doubles. The Warriors enjoyed theirwinningest four-year stretch ever during Coleman’s career,reaching the 20-win mark each year, capturing 101 of 119 games(84.9 percent) overall and eight of 12 post-season tournamentcontests as four-year post-season tournament qualifiers. InColeman’s junior season, the Warriors captured aprogram-record 28 games en route to a berth in the nationalchampionship game. In NCAA competition that year, she averaged 20.2points, 12.2 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals and totaled 13three-point field goals and eight blocked shots. That season, shewas a finalist for the national Player-of-the-Year Award. As theonly four-time player-of-the-year in the Little East Conference,Coleman was named to the LEC’s 25th AnniversaryBasketball Team in 2011 and was inducted as a charter member of theLEC Hall of Fame in 2012. In 2010, she was enshrined in the Connecticut Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.
