A hardnosed competitor who approached the game of baseball in a quiet, professional manner, Dennis Glynn played and started more games at second base than anyone in program history, and served as a team captain and gained All-America honors on the program’s first NCAA Division III national championship in 1982. A native of New London, the six-foot, 180-pound right-handed hitter played in 177 of a possible 182 games – including 128 straight – and helped the Warriors to an overall record of 131-50-1, four NCAA Division III tournament berths, and in 1982, a program-record (since broken) 21 straight wins and the national title at Marietta, OH. Glynn graduated as the all-time career leader in games, doubles (42), assists (421), and hit-by-pitch (18) and was second  in at-bats (638) and runs (153) and tied for second in hits (212) and tied for sixth in RBI (115), and among the Top Ten in home runs (16). As a second-team All-America in 1982, Glynn led a vaunted offense in six categories, and accumulated more than 100 assists (111) for the third straight season. As a junior, Glynn accumulated a program season record 137 assists (since broken), when he batted .331 with 59 hits, 38 runs and 36 RBI and sparked Eastern to the NCAA Division III Northeast Regional championship game. That year, he had 15 multiple-hit games and strung together a career-high 16-game hitting streak. As a senior, he contributed 18 multiple-hit games. In 21 NCAA post-season tournament games in his career, Glynn made only two errors on 131 chances for a fielding percentage of .985.
