Shawn M. Gilblair is the most accomplished two-way player and only three-time first-team All-America in the baseball program’s history. In addition to being one of only three three-time All-Americas in program history -- the lefty-hitting designated hitter/first baseman and southpaw pitcher from is also the only Eastern player to be named ABCA Division III Player-of-the-Year twice and the only player in program history with as many as 20 pitching wins and as many as 200 hits. Gilblair compiled a career .373 batting average with 236 hits, 29 home runs and 194 RBI and won 28 of 35 pitching decisions with a 2.31 ERA and 281 strikeouts. Gilblair was named All-America as a pitcher as a freshman in 2006 and at the utility position in 2007 and 2009, when he was additionally recognized as ABCA Division III Player-of-the-Year. He was a four-time ABCA All-New England Region pick and three-time ECAC New England All-Star at pitcher, utility and DH and selected as the ECAC and Little East Conference Pitcher-of-the-Year as a sophomore in 2007. In all, he was named All-LEC six times, earning first-team honors at both pitcher and DH as a senior in 2009. He was also named to the NCAA regional tournament all-tournament team in all four years. Gilblair earned his B.A. in Sport & Leisure Management from Eastern, resides in his hometown of Windham and has two young daughters.
