A savvy, left-handed point guard, Wendy A. Rogers was the consummate team leader and ultimate team player who engineered sectional championships and NCAA Division III Final Four tournament appearances in two of her three seasons. Through 2004, the Newton, Mass. native stood as one of only two players in program history with as many as 1,000 collegiate points (1,217), 500 rebounds (503), 500 assists (566) and 100 three-point field goals (100). In a four-year college career which included a one season at Bridgewater State, she led her teams in points, three-pointers, assists or steals a total of nine times. Appearing in all possible 84 games in her three-year Eastern career, Rogers totaled 1,006 points (12.0 ppg), 426 rebounds (5.1), 452 assists (5.4), 214 steals (2.5) and 98 three-pointers. At the time of graduation, she ranked first all-time in three-pointers, second in assists and fourth in points and steals. As a junior in 1990-91, Rogers led the Warriors to a record tying 22 wins, their first outright Little East Conference regular-season title, a berth in their first Final Four tournament and the distinction as ECAC Division III women’s basketball Team-of-the-Year. As a senior, Rogers directed the Warriors to their third straight NCAA tournament berth and first conference tournament title, second straight Final Four berth, and program records for wins (25) and consecutive wins (15). That year, Rogers was named ECAC Division III New England Player-of-the-Year and WBCA/Kodak All-America honorable mention and to All-New England and All-LEC teams for the third time.
